In our Brain & Mind Template Sessions, we use applied neuroscience, strategic habit formation, and detailed analysis to rewire the templates that are running your life.

If you have big goals and dreams for your life, and you want your brain, mind and body to be on the same page, start with your templates.

Your templates create your behaviours, which feed how the mind sees itself, which forms your self image, which generates your actions, which creates your life.

It all begins with the brain and the templates that are running it (you!).

Rewire the neural templates that are running you

Your brain is running your life.  Our brain loves predictability, and because of this, it creates rules and shortcuts when actions, thoughts and situations are repeated, so that it can go “offline” when the stimulus occurs, and use shortcuts it has stored from the past to carry out a usual set of actions.   The brain is an energy-hungry organ, and will preserve that energy anywhere it can by using what we call “brain templates”.  Brain templates look like this: Stimulus + Sensation = Action.  

An example of this would be:

As a child, your parents would often argue (stimulus).

You felt sad and overwhelmed (sensation).

To avoid feeling that unwanted sensation, you distracted yourself with junk food (action). 

When anchored in and reinforced with time, exposure and repetition, this set of circumstances creates a template that the brain will carry out without conscious thought.  

When we become adults, we defer to our templates more than we consult our in-real-time attention and consideration. We are often “offline” and carry out the majority of our day from templates that were established previously.  In order to live a truly intentional and high performing life, it is our responsibility to rewire our templates (so that they are working for us, rather than against us), and subsequently change our actions with strategic habit formation. 

Most adults have hundreds of templates running them that are playing out all day long.  It is our responsibility to identify our templates, disrupt them, and replace them with templates that take us closer and closer to the life we want.  

So, what is the role in new habit formation in all of this? 

Laying new habits over the top of old templates won’t hold, unless you simultaneously rewire the template at the same time.  This is why we can stay calm with our children and use new parenting techniques, until the stimulus repeats frequently enough that the old template plays out and we end up yelling. The wiring for the old template is stronger than that of the new behaviour.  

When we lay new habits over old templates, we’re relying on will power and persistence alone (which is a lot - but not enough long term or with excessive stimulus!).  

For lasting, enduring, inside-out change to occur, we need to not only change our actions, but who we are - that’s where templates come in.  

Your templates form who you are (because the mind uses the brain to create itself), and your habits compound that. What you do, how you think, and how you act comes from your templates and habits - it forms who you are!

  • In our signature Brain Template sessions, we will identify core templates that are sitting in opposition to your goals and vision, disrupt them with strategic habit formation and reframes, and form new templates to reinforce with repetition and exposure.

    Through a detailed intake form (that will illuminate so much for you), a 60-minute private consultation where we break down your answers and formulate a strategy, and a follow up document with your personalised plan, we work together to create templates that are a match for the life you want.

  • Upon purchasing your session, you’ll receive a confirmation email with links to book an appointment, and to complete your detailed intake form.

  • Your 60 minute session will be booked via our scheduling system, and we’ll meet for our live call on zoom. A zoom link will be automatically sent to you upon booking.

  • Our Brain & Mind Template Sessions are $380AUD.

What creates your self image and identity?

How you see yourself - your identity and self image - drives your actions and decisions, which invariably, creates your life. So, what creates your self image and identity? A combination of your templates, your habits, and the coherence between what the brain is thinking and doing, and the way the mind sees the self.

To achieve your goals, your brain needs to be carrying out thoughts and actions that support the ideal self image of the mind. That’s where templates come in.

Through a detailed intake form, a 60-minute private consultation, and a follow up plan, we work together to create templates that are a match for the life you want. 

Why templates matter:

We build our self image and identity based on our brain’s templates.  Our brain’s templates keep us looping around in habituated and well-worn circles, having the same sensation-response cycle until we choose to do something about it.  But, in the meantime, we’re building a narrative about who we are based on those templates.  

The mind uses the brain to create itself.  The mind wants the dream, the vision, and the goals, so it looks to the brain to see if the actions, behaviours, thoughts and templates are a match for those dreams, visions and goals.  If it sees that there is a discrepancy between what the mind wants and what the brain does, the mind adjusts how it sees the world (and itself) accordingly - it lowers the bar, adjusts the self-image, relinquishes the goals, drops the vision, and affirms the templates. 

Every time we live out a sensation-avoiding template, we affirm our self image connected to that.  

“I don’t follow through”.

“I’m an emotional eater”.

“I’m a bad mum”. 

“I can’t build my business”. 

Every time we build and execute a new sensation-accepting template, we start to tell a different story:

“I’m capable of change”.

“I followed through!”

“I wonder what else I can do?”

“I can endure hard things”

And soon enough, with exposure and repetition, we build a new self image:

“I always follow through”

“I am disciplined”

“I withstand temptation”

“I am strong”

“I am resilient and resourceful”

Taking responsibility for and embracing the idea that you are not your templated and habituated patterns, and that you have complete control over developing a self-image and templates that are a match for the life you want, is the most important step to actually doing it.
